OSHA Compliance & Building Safety System
Developed an advanced Dynamo-coded system in Revit to automatically calculate egress path lengths from every building point, ensuring comprehensive OSHA compliance and enhancing construction safety standards.
Watch how the automated system calculates egress paths and ensures OSHA compliance across complex building structures using advanced computational design.
The purpose of this system is to revolutionize construction safety compliance by automating OSHA verification processes directly within the design phase. Using Dynamo's visual programming environment within Autodesk Revit, I developed custom algorithms that calculate egress path lengths from every building point in real-time, ensuring all OSHA safety standards are met before construction begins. This computational approach eliminates manual safety verification processes and reduces the risk of compliance failures that could delay projects or compromise occupant safety.
The Dynamo coding implementation leverages Revit's Building Information Modeling (BIM) environment to create a seamless integration between design and safety analysis. Through visual programming nodes, the system automatically processes building geometry, identifies all potential egress routes, and calculates optimal emergency exit paths from any location within the structure. This real-time analysis capability enables architects and engineers to make informed design decisions while maintaining continuous OSHA compliance verification throughout the design process.
By bridging the gap between design creativity and safety compliance through computational design, this system significantly improves efficiency in construction planning workflows. The automated path analysis identifies potential safety concerns before they become costly construction issues, while the comprehensive egress calculations ensure that emergency evacuation routes meet all regulatory requirements. This innovation demonstrates how advanced computational tools can transform traditional construction safety practices into proactive, integrated design solutions.
